The company aims to improve the sites and resources so that global countries, customers, and industries can handle the computing platform.
Azure is responsible for expanding the service ring, Microsoft’s hub, availability zone infrastructure, and global coverage as software developer Tom Keane recalls. Currently, Microsoft has an availability zone infrastructure with a capacity of over 1GW. The infrastructure is spread over 200 data centers, 19 Nations, and 54 regions. In addition to the mentioned achievements, Tom Keane was also at the forefront of establishing Azure’s cyber sovereignty engineering.
Currently, Microsoft is focused on having an extension of the Azure Space ecosystem. Under his leadership, Azure will partner with leaders from other industries specialized in space. Tom Keane explains that the expansion is meant to raise empowerment levels for customers and partners and see that more is achieved.
Airbus is one of the leading industry partners coordinating with Azure to enlarge the space ecosystem as Tom Keane adds. Airbus is advantaged by having highly available elevation data and premium satellite imagery in Azure Maps.
Through the partnership, Azure will receive SPOT Satellite imagery feeds from Airbus. In addition, there will also be WorldDEM4Ortho elevation data fed to Azure, software developer Tom Keane informs. The data has its anchorage on the global WorldDEM dataset. New cloud computing scenarios are to be unlocked by Airbus and Microsoft. Most organizations globally will benefit from the partnership, citing the new insights necessary for innovative solutions.
