Randy Douthit Talks About What He Has Learned From Judge Judy

Randy DouthitRandy Douthit has picked several courtroom pointers after spending over a quarter century producing Judge Judy, an Emmy award-winning courtroom TV show. The show debuted in 1996, and Douthit has always been in its behind the scenes. The biggest lesson he has learned from the show in the past two and a half decades is that people need to stop being emotional during court proceedings if they want to win a case. Being emotional only leads to more trouble. Thus, one should try to be as straightforward as possible.

Nonetheless, the show ended in 2021 after 25 years. Currently, Douthit is the director and executive producer of Judy Justice, which first aired in 2021. He is a very talented TV production personality with an experience of over three decades. CNN’s Larry King Live is among his own creations and productions.

Randy DouthitRandy Douthit started his career early on in local television. His innovation helped turn Seattle Today into a top program from a falling television show. After working with Ted Turner on different projects, he joined CNN when it was starting. He spent about 10 years in the network and directed some of its top-rated shows. He notes that he was very determined and passionate about his job, attributes that made him very successful in his early career. Over his three-decade career, his mindset has paid off because he has earned numerous awards. However, even after all his success, the work he is mostly proud of is his production of Judge Judy.
