If you are a fan of the NFL, particularly of the Pittsburgh Steelers, no doubt you are familiar with Ben Roethlisberger, and NFL Quarterback for 18 years.
”Big Ben”, is Ben Roethlisberger’s nickname, was a number one draft pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers right out of college, in 2004, and very shortly thereafter, the team’s primary quarterback, Tommie Maddox became injured, and the rookie quarterback stepped in.
But like his years at Miami Ohio University, where Ben held many scoring records, the young rookie excelled right from the start, leading the 2004 Steelers to a 13-0 record, and a trip to the AFC championship game.
It didn’t stop there of course. One of the premier quarterbacks in the NFL, Ben led the Steelers to 12 championship berths, 8 NFC North appearances, five AFC Championship berths, and the appearance at three Superbowl, of which his team was twice the Superbowl Champion.
However, Ben Roethlisberger not only excelled as an athlete, but through his faith in God, and his fantastic family, Ben has shared much of his wealth through the family’s personal foundation, the Roethlisberger Family Foundation.
The family foundation helps fathers and sons connect and forge strong family partnerships, as well as assists K-9 units for both police and firefighting services throughout the US, with a particular emphasis on helping develop service dogs for the greater Pittsburgh area.
Roethlisberger Family Foundation also contributes significantly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
For over 14 years, the foundation has been providing grants to police and fire departments throughout the United States to help them acquire and train service dogs and K-9 dogs, which are of great value to those organizations.
And now that Ben has been retired from playing competitive football, he has even more time to devote to charitable works.
