Lesson Randy Douthit Learned From Judge Judy

Randy Douthit has been Judge Judy’s executive producer and director since its debut in September 1996. He shares a few of the many things he’s learned from this show. Randy says that even though Judge Judy is an entertainment show, the best experience you can have as an audience member is to learn from the show. The producer believes that emotions make for better television. Every person has a way of handling situations and emotions, so humor is the best way to get them to engage.

Randy believes that honesty is one of your best attributes as a producer, director, or actor. He believes that anger and frustration are two things that make a case good. He also says that no one gets through the show without getting a little bit of flack. Randy says that you have to learn how to spend some time in your own life with the person you’re judging. He believes it’s important to assess how they handle the things you send their way.

Randy Douthit believes that when working on a case, it’s important to realize that your job is only to decide the case. Your job is not to place blame. He says that you try not to judge a person before they walk into the room, but you should try and understand who they are and why they’re upset.

Randy believes that it’s important to create a good judge who is fair and equally passionate about each side of the case. He feels this helps put both parties at ease. He believes the best thing he can do is to be the judge and decide based on what he has seen. Randy says that hearing bad news makes people fail to keep their composure and good attitude.

Randy Douthit has seen a lot of things on Judge Judy that he never thought would make the air in this day and age. He is grateful for the opportunities that the show has given him.
