Greg Aziz at A&P Canada

Greg Aziz is the CEO of a large software firm that produces accounting software and manages highly complex business transactions. He has more than 20 years of experience in the accounting software field but took a risk and started his own company. Business expert Aziz is an entrepreneur who has entered several promising new markets. 

 

The business leader and entrepreneur is currently totally involved in several charitable organizations, including the SickKids Foundation and the United Way. Greg Aziz is a professional chef and avid gardener in his spare time. He has written several cookbooks with his wife. Restaurants and grocery stores have used Aziz’s recipes for nearly 15 years.

 

Aziz started his career at IBM as a programmer in the software development division — specifically in implementing the Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheet program on the IBM mainframe platform. He then attended Queen’s University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in commerce and economics. He received his MBA from Queen’s University as well, Greg Aziz started as a manager at an IBM branch office in 1984.

Business expert Greg Aziz was then assigned to work at Lotus Development, Inc. Here, he became a software designer and product marketer for the 1-2-3 spreadsheet program. In 1990, Aziz left IBM and joined his brother Farouk at a startup called Mattel Electronics, where he focused on developing new products. 

Seven months later, Aziz left Mattel due to poor business conditions, while his brother remained on board until 1996. After leaving Mattel, he started work at a fruit and vegetable wholesaler called A&P Canada, where he was promoted to vice president of sales after several years in the company. From there, Greg Aziz joined his brother Farouk again, and together they launched InfoGear Technology in 1997.
