Dr. Andrew Jacono’s Deep-Plane Facelift Earns National Recognition

Few surgical techniques achieve both peer acceptance and mainstream visibility. The extended deep-plane facelift developed by Dr. Andrew Jacono has done both. Its results have attracted celebrities, fashion figures, and fellow physicians. Its documentation in peer-reviewed literature has cemented it as a genuine contribution to the field. And the surgeon behind it has received recognition from publications ranging from Newsweek to Harper’s Bazaar.

The Road from Medicine to Innovation

Dr. Andrew Jacono received his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1996. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, where he served as administrative chief resident, and then trained in an accredited fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Those years produced not just clinical skill but a clear sense of where existing techniques fell short.

Traditional facelifts addressed skin laxity without engaging the deeper structural layers. Dr. Andrew Jacono changed that by developing the MADE facelift, which moves skin, fat, and muscle as a combined structure. Outcomes hold for 12 to 15 years and look natural enough that neither patients nor observers can identify them as obviously surgical. Fashion designer Marc Jacobs made the procedure public in 2021, specifically praising the natural appearance. Dr. Paul Nassif chose Jacono for his own facelift a notable endorsement from within the surgical profession.

Teaching, Research, and Giving Back

Dr. Andrew Jacono does not keep his methods to himself. He directs fellowship training for the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and holds a faculty appointment at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His publication record includes more than 70 peer-reviewed articles in leading journals and a 2021 textbook on extended deep-plane facelifting. He has presented his findings at more than 100 conferences worldwide.

The honors he has received capture both dimensions of his career. Newsweek named him the third-best facelift surgeon in America for 2025. Harper’s Bazaar included him in its list of the 24 best plastic surgeons nationwide. The Most Compassionate Doctor Award granted to fewer than 3% of physicians, has recognized Dr. Andrew Jacono every year from 2012 through 2022. More than 750 children with facial deformities have received surgery through his humanitarian work with Healing the Children, and domestic violence survivors benefit from his reconstructive care through the FACE-TO-FACE program.
