Chad Price, CEO of Mako Medical

Chad Price is the CEO of Mako Medical and one of the most highly-respected authorities in bioengineering. Chad Price was born in Virginia, Minnesota, and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in biomedical engineering. He earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Biomedical Engineering, specializing in biomechanics.

He has been in the field for over 30 years and has built one of the most respected companies in bioengineering. As CEO of Mako Medical, Chad Price Mako Medical is focused on creating the next generation of stem cell therapies by using stem cells from cord blood to cure diseases like multiple sclerosis or leukemia. Mako Medical is a private, clinical-stage company focused on developing adult stem cell therapies derived from cord blood.

Before founding Mako Medical, Chad Price was the CEO at Osiris Therapeutics. Before that, he served as a senior management executive and member of the Board of Directors at publicly traded companies Algenol Biofuels and Cytomedix. He also was a founder and CEO of privately held companies InterXion Pharmaceuticals and ImmunoCellular Therapeutics.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Chad Price worked with the U.S. government and several of the world’s largest manufacturers in creating emergency solutions for developing a vaccine.

Price has received numerous accolades for his work, including being named an ASME Lamme Medalist, the Lemelson-MIT Prize, and the Kagni Award winner, among others. His work is highly valued by his peers, who also celebrate his many contributions to society through generous giving of time, resources, and awards.
