The restaurant industry has been seeing a massive wave of cutbacks through restaurants’ loyalty programs where many customers are finding that the value of the rewards are being lowered. Zaxby’s, however, has decided to double down on their loyalty program by extending their welcome offer granted for downloading their app and joining their rewards program. Customers are rewarded with a free Big Zax Snak meal.
Zaxby’s chief marketing & strategy officer, Patrick Schwing, is cited saying: “At a time when other loyalty programs are lowering the value of rewards, we’re doubling down on rewarding our most loyal guests. We are extending an attractive sign-up offer that includes a free meal while making it easy to earn and redeem rewards”. In addition, they have continuously offered their users rewards through events like May’s “Free Delivery Sunday” and the free delivery week offered in April.
In return, Zaxby’s was heavily rewarding for putting the loyalty of their customers first since their report that customer feedback has exceeded their expectations. The quick response also coincides with the release of their new app that had launched in September of 2022. This resulting in their number of active users doubling and receiving a 4.7 rating on the App Store.
The app ratings being another source of growth and success as the climb for the restaurant apps can be a rough one when having to compete with the likes of bigger chains such as Subway, McDonald’s, or Chick-Fil-A. However, Zaxby’s has accomplished this feat, becoming the fastest growing Restaurant app, beating out chains like Whataburger and Panera Bread with a growth of 317%.
Zaxby’s being proof that when putting the needs and wants of your customers first, their loyalty is earned with ease. The success reminds people that a loyal customer is a returning customer.
