Nick Millican: Many People Are Giving Up Their Dream of Owning a Home

Buying a home used to be something that people looked forward to, as real estate expert Nick Millican comments. However, a recent survey showed that fewer people in Britain are looking forward to buying a home. Seventy percent of people still want to buy a home, but only 48 percent of them believe that they will be able to achieve that goal.

Paula Higgins works for the Homeowners Alliance as the chief executive. She stated that the results of the Zoopla study show that people in Britain do not think that they will ever own a home. And this is where real estate agents come in.

She also stated that this is one of the factors that both parties should consider in the upcoming election. There are several things that are keeping people from becoming a homeowner. According to Nick Millican, the high cost of housing is the main factor. Sixty percent of people cited this as a major barrier to owning a home.

Up to now, forty-four percent of people stated that they cannot afford the mortgage payments. Furthermore, thirty-three percent of people stated that they did not think they would be able to get approved for a mortgage. And this is something real estate agents such as Nick Millican are aware of when representing their clients.

A spokesperson for the Department for Leveling Up, Housing and Communities stated that it is important for the government to support people who want to own a home; they have managed to help over 860,000 people get a home since 2010. Nick Millican is a real estate professional. He uses his experience to help people get the home of their dreams.
