At Natixis John Hailer Leads Changes In Portfolio Management Trends

John Hailer is the CEO of Natixis Global Asset Management and leads the company’s portfolio management.

John Hailer has a long history at Natixis, first with the creation of their private equity business, which became one of Europe’s leading private equity firms. In 2009 John Hailer was appointed CFO for all of Natixis assets, and later, in 2012, he was appointed CEO. He indeed leads changes in portfolio management trends within the company and is a board member to help ensure that current and future changes are done correctly.

John firmly believes in using data to drive investment decisions and ensuring that managers can stop making bad ones if they see trends or patterns. He is also focused on providing the correct people a chance to execute their ideas: “It’s not about who you know, what you know or how much money you have. It’s about the idea, and what you do with it.”

John Hailer is also focused on making sure that there is efficient and effective communication within the company. For people to be more productive, John believes we must listen, react and communicate. He focuses on empowering all it employees to make decisions with a clear vision of what needs to be done and then act on them appropriately. John has always advocated empowering employees with the proper tools to do their jobs and ensuring everyone is in a suitable space to succeed.

John started in the private equity industry at Baron Capital, a pioneering European investment firm where he learned from some of the best minds in finance. John left Baron Capital after spending ten years at the company to tackle something new and different. He is responsible for European asset management and global investor relations. He is also involved with Natixis’ wealth management business which includes joint venture companies, China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, as well as service providers.
